Venting
It's time again for some venting if the greens. As stated in a previous post this practice is highly recommended by our USGA Agronomist. Once mowed and rolled there will be very minimal effect on playability of the putting surface. The plan is to complete the front 9 today and the back 9 tomorrow.

Hydraulic Leak
Tuesday we had our first major hydraulic leak of the year, it happened on #8 apron. The leak was noticed and only one pass was made, thank goodness. Once a leak happens we try to clean up and disperse as best as possible. We first apply some sort of detergent, this particular time we used laundry detergent. He second step is to flush the area, as seen below Brian is flushing the area with a 1" hose. The final step mow and cleanup debris.
On this particular machine we use a biodegradable oil. It is like a vegetable oil and very environmentally friendly. Most of the time it is not the oil that kills the grass but the heat of the oil that gets it. We will have to wait and see on this area how it recovers.
