Bunker maintenance

Here is the crew weed eating bunker edges, also raking edges where needed. The heavy rain on Wednesday cause minimal washouts in our bunkers.
When our bunkers where rebuilt they placed a liner in them. This liner helps prevent washouts and helps the bunkers drain without washing out the sand.

Time for some sharp blades

Here is a picture of Matt installing sharpened blades on the rough mower. During the season this done every 10-14 days.
Each of our big rough mowers requires 7 blades, and the smaller rough mower requires 3. Each time the blades are taken off they are sharpened and balanced.
The recent rains and grounds temps have required many hours of mowing keeps the roughs playable.

First cut of rough

Today is the first time for mowing the first cut of rough. We will mow with a rotary mower the few times, then switch to a reel type mower. We will mow this three times a week during the summer season.

Trying to keep up!!

Here is Mitchell busy mowing rough this morning. With the rain earlier this week it has caused the grass to grow at a rapid rate.  We are just getting all caught up in time for a busy weekend.  During the season we try to get all rough areas mowed twice per week.

Ball Marks

When checking greens this morning I noticed many ball marks not repaired.  Please remember it is the golfer's responsibility to repair all ball marks. It also a good idea to repair yours plus one or two more.  Take some pride and leave the course in better shape than what you found it.

The weather has improved and the course is in good shape. Come out and enjoy your golf course.

After mowing & rolling

After Venting

Venting greens

Due to the late start of the golf season we will not do an aggressive pull the plug style aeration. Instead we are using a solid bayonet style time to vent the greens. After venting we will mow then roll the greens. This will provide very minimal disruption to play and provide the greens with some compaction relief.
If you have any questions feel free to contact me.
