New Tees seeded

As many of you know the open winter was not very kind to the golf course. The new seeded tees are no exception. After waiting for some warm soil temperatures we determined that the seed was not going to germinate.  This was caused by the open dry winter.

On Friday we went through the process of reseeding the new tee complexes. It was a three step process of tearing up the existing surface, seeding and finally dimpling or packing the seed into the sand base. We also added more organic fertilizer at this time, thinking this will give the seed more jump when it germinates. Speaking of seed we went with a combination of new creeping rye grass and low mow blue grass. This should give us a good tee surface when established.

Here is Ottis riding with while dimple packing the seed.
